Black Belt Grading
Trainor Taekwondo Academy, recently concluded a very successful 2006 with a Black Belt graduation for both junior and seniors. 29 students graduated to black belt including 15 juniors and 14 adults.

2006 Regional Championships
The 2006 Ballarat Regional Taekwondo Championships comprised four disciplines at all age and belt levels and showcased excellent performances by a number of elite competitors.

2006 National Championships
Ballarat was well represented at this years Australian Taekwondo Championships with 23 Ballarat and regional Taekwondo players contesting this competition.Ballarat achieved its best ever result with 4 Gold medals, 6 silver and 12 bronze medals won over the three days of competition.

NCAS Level 2
The first NCAS Level 2 program was conducted at the SNHC on August 12/13, 2006. The course was written by Damien O'Flaherty, National NCAS coordinator, and presented by, Damien O'Flaherty and International coaches including Martin Hall, Paul Lyons (Olympian) , Carlo Massimino (Olympian) and Frank Depasqualie.

Daylesford Teenage Taekwondo sensation, Katelyn Bugden in the Junior 2nd Poom Black Belt division Victorian Champion. This is Katelyn’s biggest win to date having previously won the Ballarat regional Junior Champion on two previous occasions.

State Selection Championships
Trainor Taekwondo Academy was very well represented at this years Victorian Taekwondo Technical Championships.
The Technical Championships was the third day of the State Selection Championships to select the team to contest the National Taekwondo Championships to be contested this year in Adelaide. In excess of 1000 players contested the three days of competition ensuring some stiff competition in many events.

Mr Trainor recognised f or his contribution to the development of Taekwondo in Victoria
Trainor Taekwondo Academy Head Instructor, Mr Trainor was recently among those recognised for their contributions to the development of Olympic Taekwondo in Victoria. The presentation was made by Taekwondo Victoria President, Julius Barai at the recent Victorian Championships.

Black Belts Excellence !!!
The term 2 Black belt grading proved to be one of our best with a very high standard of advanced skills demonstrated. Shane Morrison( Daylesford) was first up on his quest for 3rd Dan Black Belt.

Rowena

Rowena Hubbard (17) successfully graded recently to
3rd Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo. Rowena was awarded
her grading by Ballarat Taekwondo Master Instructor,
Russell Trainor, 5th dan at a Black Belt grading conducted
at Trainor Taekwondo Academy

2005 Ballarat Taekwondo Championships
was a huge event, attracting a record 350 entries for
the four disciplines including Sparring, Traditional
patterns, Self-defence and Creative Patterns

Mr
Trainor Appointed Victoaian Coaching Director.
Mr Trainor has recently been employed by Taekwondo
Australia as the Coach Education Director for Victoria.
Mr Trainor’s role will be to administer the
Australian Coaching Councils Coach Education program
for Taekwondo in Victoria.

Trainor Taekwondo Academy “scooped the pools”
at this years Victorian Taekwondo selection championships
winning a total of 16 Gold, 10 Silver and 5 bronzemedals.

Queensland
Open
Jason Dyer competed in the Taekwondo Australia, Queensland
Open Championships held at the Brisbane Entertainment
Centre on Sunday 17th of April. Jason (16) won gold
in the under eighteen black belt light weight division
of Olympic sparring.

Trans
Tasman Masters
The Trans Tasman Masters Games where held in Newcastle,
NSW, this April. The games are held in Australia one
year and then New Zealand the next. The games consist
of over fifty sports, with Taekwondo open to people
over 25 years.

2004
World Taekwondo Festival & Korea Open
Seven Trainor Taekwondo Academy club members joined
the Australian team to contest the 2004 World Taekwondo
Festival including ;- Head Instructor, Mr Trainor, Shane
Morrison, Lisa Clinnick, Jason Dyer, Simon Hibbert,
Steve Kelly and Casey Peeler.
